Our History
Diversified Education Company was founded and incorporated in 1974 by the current president and sole owner, Mr. Samuel Romano. The corporation has two major divisions: Associated Technical College and Diversified Vocational College.
Associated Technical College was founded in Hollywood, California as the Career Academy. The academy was acquired by the National Institute of Arts and Science in 1969 and by Associated Colleges of California in 1973. At that time the college was moved to its present location in Los Angeles, California and renamed Associated Technical College. On January 1, 1975, Associated Technical College became a division of Diversified Education Company. In 1984 two branches were opened, one in Anaheim, California and one in San Diego, California. The Anaheim campus was moved to Vista, California and was then closed in 2005. The San Diego campus remains open and is located on San Diego.
Diversified Vocational College was founded in 1971 by Mr. Samuel Romano under the name Speak Easy Language Center. In 1973, Speak Easy Language Center was moved to its present location on Wilshire Boulevard adjoining Associated Technical College. Speak Easy Language Center became a division of Diversified Education Company in 1974. The name of the school was changed and it´s now known as Diversified Vocational College. The parent school also in Los Angeles, California.
