Diversified Vocational College was originally founded as Speak Easy Language Center in 1970, to meet the needs of the international community in Los Angeles for English language instruction. The name of the school was changed and it is now known as Diversified Vocational College. Since that time, students from all parts of the world have chosen Diversified Vocational College for their English studies.
Programs Offered
Diversified Vocational College, a private institution, is approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) and is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). Licensed to operate means compliance with state’s minimum standards as set forth in this Act.

English as a second language
This is a nine level intensive program designed to help you significantly improve your English skills in order to facilitate becoming gainfully employed, continue your education, or advance within your profession. Students practice and learn using practical, real-world English, developing their listening and conversational and other speaking skills, and their reading and writing skills. Students are tested and placed in the level best suited to their present English skills. Students enroll for a 720 hour program. International students may enroll for one month segments. Classes are offered in the morning, afternoon, or evening.
Transportation and logistics technology
To prepare individuals with skills and knowledge in the fields of; International Trade, Transportation, Shipping and Receiving, Goods Movement, Office Operation and Dispatching. The successful graduate will be able to demonstrate: customer service skills in detecting and resolving customer complaints and issues; ability to use dispatching equipment and communicate effectively for inbound and outbound dispatches; organizational skills for record keeping creating and interpreting shipping labels, maintaining inventory of shipping/receiving documents utilizing Microsoft Excel or other similar inventory control software, scheduling and tracking of shipments; warehousing skills in inventory management and billing process; ability to correspond with customers, vendors and employees via email and telephone calls; understanding of international trade terms and freight handling regulations as relates to land, ocean and air; strong computer and administrative skills to adequately work in an office environment.
Business office administration
Join an increasing number of students who are developing the skills to work in a rewarding career as a business professional. Students will gain the ability to function effectively and competitively in the business environment through the acquisition of communicative and technical skills.
In this 720 hour program, offered in the morning, afternoon, or evening, students are prepared for a business career in fields such as:
- Administrative Assistant
- Accounting Clerk
- Human Resources
- Customer Service Representative
- Office Clerk
- Sales Professional
- Receptionist
Medical billing electronic system
This program prepares students for entry-level positions such as medical billers, medical office clerks, medical receptionists, coders and medical transcribers. CIP code: 51.0714
Admission Requirements:
Applicants must have at least a High School Diploma, and be at least 18 years old.
Length of Program
720 Clock Hours 24 Semester Hours 30 Weeks*
The Program includes a minimum of 180 hours of assigned homework.
